About
Each year, 2.65 billion Christmas Cards are made and sold. Add cards for other occasions such as birthdays to that total and we re talking about a lot of paper here. Cards can be reused before being eventually recycled. Reuse trumps Recycling. Here are some other fun ideas for how to reuse and recycle used Greeting Cards: http://www.ehow.com/how_9171_recycle-reuse-holiday.html Used greeting cards can also be reused by sending them to the St. Jude's Ranch for Children, which converts used cards into new cards by removing the front and attaching a new back made with recycled paper (proceeds benefit children in need) In terms of recycling, greeting cards can be deposited in the Mixed Paper bin at City Carton Recycling & can also be recycled with Mixed Paper in your blue recycling container (if your household is served by Iowa City curbside recycling).
